Our first stop was to Mexico. We learned about the night of Las Posadas and how poinsettias are used for decorations.
Then we went to visit Canada. We were all surprised at how similar the traditions are to our very own. They decorate Christmas trees and spend time making and writing holiday cards.
Our next stop was to France. We learned about Pere Noel, Yule logs, and their advent wreath.
We then went on to visit Russia. We learned about Deda Moroz, which is their name for Father Christmas. We also learned about the Russian nesting dolls.
The final stop on our trip was to Australia. The children thought it was really nice to have Christmas during the summer time. They enjoy barbecuing and decorating their houses with extravagant holiday decor.
Our last exciting event was our visit from Father Christmas, where he stuffed our boots with treats for the holiday. This is a German tradition which Seaside has proudly adopted.
The excitement and pure joy in the eyes of these children brighten my day on a daily basis. I'm thankful to have been able to capture their excitement. Enjoy!
